WIP – A technological, social commentary, political thriller
In the latest upcoming political thriller-meets-tech-dystopia, I will be serving up a cocktail of suspense, biting humour, and a sobering look at how Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been co-opted by the very people it promised to dethrone.
Imagine a world where AI could have been humanity’s great equalizer, where algorithms would make decisions untainted by greed, bias, or political whim. Now imagine that instead of becoming our benevolent overlord, it became a digital Machiavelli, expertly manipulated by the usual suspects: billionaires, politicians, and people who get private jets to brunch. Welcome to reality, and the chillingly plausible near-future of this book.
A Commentary Wrapped in Comedy
In this darkly comedic book you wont be getting a brooding dystopian novel where everyone wears gray jumpsuits and stares longingly at the last apple on Earth. Instead, it’s a razor-sharp takedown of modern society’s hypocrisies, with interesting characters and cute cats too. Think The Big Short meets Black Mirror, with a sprinkling of The Thick of it.

The AI’s is having its own existential crisis (punctuated by its sarcastic internal monologues) becomes a subplot. At one point, it ponders, “If the humans are too stupid to use me ethically, is it unethical for me to just… replace them?”
